From Caterpillars to Butterflies!

Kindergarten learned all about the different stages in a Butterfly's Life Cycle. We were recently given the opportunity to watch this cycle day by day. The kindergarten class was given 5 caterpillars that were so tiny when we first received them that we could barely see them. Over time, they ate and ate until they were much larger and ready to go into their cocoons. We waited patiently for them to emerge and they did! Our caterpillars turned into beautiful butterflies. We fed them oranges until all of our caterpillars emerged from their cocoons. Then we went outside to let all of our butterflies free.

Our visit to the Senior Center!

Kindergarten had the opportunity to to a big mitzvah and visit the Senior Center this month. There, we talked to the individuals that live there about the holiday of Shavuos, sang songs and danced with them and even had the opportunity to celebrate one of the woman's birthday with her! The children also made cards as well as handed out flowers. They put a smile on so many faces and learned a very important lesson. It was a rewarding experience for everybody.

Our Trip to the NY Hall of Science!

Kindergarten went on a fun and educational trip to the NY Hall of Science! It was a hands on experience that the children found fascinating. They looked at germs and many organisms through microscopes, went through the reflection room, investigated sound and got to walk through many exhibits that allowed them to use their senses to explore. After, we went to the outdoor science park where we continued our hands on experience. The children had such a wonderful time.
