Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving the Kindergarten class learned a song about the holiday as well as made our own books telling the story. Our class also had the opportunity to bake corn muffins. We learned that during the Fall season, which Thanksgiving takes place in, certain fruits and vegetables are in season. Corn in one of them. They were so Yummy!

Thanksgiving Reminder

Dear Parents,
As part of the Thanksgiving celebration, children should please bring in 3 cans of food with a kosher symbol, to contribute to the Shorefront Food Pantry. It is a big mitzvah and is an opportunity to teach our children an important lesson of how lucky they are to have as much as they do.

All the Best!

Parts of a Plant

The Kindergarten class is learning about the parts of plants. We learned that plants have flowers, leaves, stems and roots. Kindergarten spoke about how plants needs water, sunlight and air in order to survive. We know that a person eats food through his mouth however a plant gets it's food through the roots. The Kindergarten class got to look at the tall plant we have in our class and see it's various parts. We also got a chance to water it and put it in a nice and sunny spot in the classroom. After talking about the parts of a plant, we got to label and color our own pictures of plants. They are hanging on our new bulletin board...please come see!

We Love Doing Addition!

Our Kindergarten Class is learning Addition! Morah Dawn showed us how to add using many different objects like crayons, clothes pins, markers and more! She even made a ladder of numbers going in order to help us visually see our steps as we added numbers. Kindergarten even got to play various math games in order to review all we have learned! We love doing addition!

Our Trip to the Post Office!

In our Social Studies curriculum we learned about The James Farley Post Office in Manhattan. We learned there are post offices all around the world. The Kindergarten class first made pictures for our parents. Then we learned how to address the envelope and put stamps on it. We took our mail to the post office and got a chance to put it in the mailbox. The Kindergarten class also got to go inside the post office and see people mailing packages and talk to the clerks! What an educational outing. We hope you were surprised by the mail you received!

Alisa's Special Fall Project

Our friend Alisa made a special Fall Project and shared it with the class! Alisa took 26 various leaves she collected and glued them down on paper. Then she took the the letters of the alphabet, A-Z and glued them down to each leaf. The class was so excited to have Alisa share her project with them. Thank you Alisa!
