Our Kindergarten class has been learning about the 5 Boroughs in our social studies curriculum. Kindergarten is keeping a social studies notebook documenting the various places we learn about. The first borough we learned about was Manhattan. We spoke about Manhattan being the smallest of the boroughs, that it has skyscrapers and it is surrounded by water. We also learned about various places in Manhattan such as the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, The United Nations, Central Park and more! To celebrate all we learned, we took a trip to the Central Park Zoo! We saw all types of animals like a polar bear, parrots, sea lions and more. On the way into the city, Morah Dawn pointed out various places we learned about, for example, the Empire State Building. It was so exciting to see. We had a great day!
